1. ICCA is ECA's newest alliance partner! |
- Founded in 1963, ICCA specializes in the international association meetings sector; offering unrivalled data, education, communication channels, and business development and networking opportunities.
Why it matters: ECA will provide ICCA with an opportunity to advocate for its members in North America, and to join like-minded organizations working to advance industry's collective business and sustainability objectives.
- In recent weeks, ICCA invited ECA to be part of its 60th anniversary report, Beyond Borders – How Associations Business Events Bring the World, and its Global Advocacy Alliance session at IMEX Frankfurt.
- Next week, ECA looks forward to welcoming Jose Barreiro, ICCA's Regional Director for North America, to ECA Legislative Action Day in Washington, DC.
In their words: "ICCA is thrilled to partner with ECA and move forward together toward the shared objectives of advocating for our industry in North America," said Senthil Gopinath, ICCA’s Chief Executive Officer. "This partnership promises to provide mutual support and resources to advance the goals of serving our respective members, promoting sustainability, and building a legacy that reflects our mission, vision, and values."

2. ECA Legislative Action Day is next week |
- By the numbers: This will be the business events industry's largest presence on Capitol Hill ever!
What to expect: On Legislative Action Day, state groups will be visiting Congressional offices to advocate for two of the industry's top policy priorities:
- Eliminating visa backlogs and modernizing the visa processing system. 🌎
- Helping attract and retain the industry's next generation workforce. 👷
- Special thanks to Julie Kagy, Stephanie Selesnick, Jeff Evans, Austin O'Boyle, and Elizabeth Maier for being part of those webinars!
Get social: Even if you will not be in Washington, DC for ECA Legislative Action Day, you can still be part of the festivities on social media.
Once again, ECA Legislative Action Day would not be possible with the support of our industry partners. Thank you for being such an important part of the industry's advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill!
3. Global Exhibitions Day is on June 5 |
On June 5, the business events industry will come together around the world celebrate the 9th Global Exhibitions Day.
The big picture: This year's theme is “Exhibitions are catalysts to sustainable futures,” with four key messages underpinning it:
- Exhibitions drive progress: Exhibitions are platforms to discuss, create and showcase solutions to our universal challenges.
- Exhibitions facilitate economic growth: Exhibitions are engines of economic growth, connecting industries and driving job creation.
- Exhibitions are sustainable: Exhibitions are a sustainable way to drive business and development, gathering communities in one place and managing our environmental impact.
- Exhibitions connect people: Exhibitions are community builders, bringing people together face-to-face to connect, collaborate and contribute.
